About
I am a multidisciplinary artist whose work ranges from painting to assemblage. I create ‘fragments’; or rather, richly layered, colorful compositions that convey a sense of narrative, and emerge after a long process of arrangement. Inspired by painters like Manzoni, Rauschenberg and textile artists like Caroline Achaintre, I have an ongoing preoccupation with the properties of painting, cutting into the canvas itself, combining paint and material to create a tension between color, line, form.
As a former graphic designer, my work also explores text as a compositional device, and language associated with personal experience.
Originally from Northern Ireland, I have lived in Portland for 6 years, and am a mother of two.
